In some breaking news yesterday afternoon, Llandudno Football Club have confirmed that following the FAW’s curtailment of the 2019/20 season, Matthew Jones has been relieved of his first team managerial duties.
The club go on to state that they would like to place on record it’s gratitude and best wishes to Matthew for his dedication and efforts this season. The club finally go on to say that the recruitment of a new first team manager will begin immediately in preparation for the upcoming season.
The club were relegated from the now JD Cymru Premier at the end of last season and finished in the bottom half in their first season back in the second tier. Their standing of 12th, just three places above the relegation zone is their joint worst second tier finish since the 2012/13 season. They finished 43 points behind league champions Prestatyn.
This is Welsh Football have also learned of a second managerial casualty this morning as Cefn Druids have announced that manager Stuart Gelling has left the club. They too went onto give their thanks for the efforts during his incredibly short spell of just three games in which he won just one, losing the other two.
Cefn Druids finish the Cymru Premier season in 8th position which is an improvement on last seasons 10th place.
In a tweet released by Matthew Burgess, it is expected that Cefn Druids could appoint a manager from overseas.
